A 15-year-old student of Nyabikoni Secondary School has gone missing under unclear circumstances. The police in the Kigezi region have launched an investigation into the disappearance of the 15-year-old boy, which occurred in the early hours of October 21, 2025.

This has left fellow students and the school administration in a state of panic.

The mother Caroline Abaasa, an administrator at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital says Joel Niwarinda, who was in Senior Two, had not registered any criminal records and was one of the most well-behaved students at Nyabikoni Secondary School, a prominent private school, located in Kabale Municipality.

Ms Abaasa, disclosed that they have searched everywhere, including Nyabikoni, Kigongyi ward, Rwakaraba, and the neighborhood, but they haven’t found the boy.

Although the Nyabikoni Secondary School administration has not issued a statement about the mysterious disappearance of their student, who was in the boarding section, the matter was reported to Kabale Central Police under reference 41/23/10/2025.

The disappearance of the student from Nyabikoni Secondary School has put the school authorities on the spot, as detectives in Kabale have also launched an investigation into his mysterious disappearance.

For now, the whereabouts of the boy remain unclear, and parents are asking the public to join them in the search.

Halson Kagure, the Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital Public Relations Officer, admitted that as a hospital, they are also concerned about their staff member’s missing child, as it causes distress.

He added that they have been sharing the information on different channels to amplify the search.
