In the letter dated 03rd October 2023 that the permanent secretary/Secretary to treasury wrote to the Ministry of Trade and co-operatives, the permanent secretary Ramathan Ggoobi noted that following the resolutions of parliament on the the sectoral committee on Trade, Tourism, and Industry on investigations into the utilization of the supplementary budget for the financial year 2021/2022 to the ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Industry for the rent of new office premises
He requested the minister of trade to nominate a suitable officer to execute the duties of the accounting officer pending investigations
He also added that Mr. Tom Opio be removed from the electronic government procurement system and management
