Nyabushozi Member of Parliament Col (Rtd) Fred Mwesigye has denied objecting to residual polls on 48 villages to determine party flag bearer.
Addressing a press conference at parliament, Col Mwesigye said that his competitors must acknowledge that in any political contest, there is a winner and loser.
He added that the polls, in which he was declared winner, were generally free and fair. He however noted that he is awaiting the decision of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) on the way forward after his competitors decided to boycott the polls in the 48 villages. Mwesigye also commended the party’s electoral commission tribunal for clearing him over the allegations brought forward by his close rival Amb. Wilson Kajwengye.
