The Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development says it’s finalizing the drafting of the National Family Policy to strengthen the family institution that has weakened
The ministry also says that it will expedite the dissemination of the National Parenting Guidelines and also develop the National Family Strengthening Program on top of extending psychosocial support to families affected by challenges
This development comes as Uganda prepares to commemorate the International day of the family under a theme “COVID-19 Pandemic and the Family in Uganda: Challenges, Opportunities and Lessons Learnt”.
The state minister in charge of culture Peace Mutuzo says that many Ugandan families have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in different dimensions especially on the economic side and domestic violence
Minister Mutijo revealed this while addressing journalists at the Media Centre
