Several Candidates nominated in Ibanda district on day one.

A number of parliamentary hopefuls in Ibanda district were on Thursday duly nominated as candidates to contest on different seats.

The first to be nominated as early as 10:00am was Agaba Peter who was duly nominated as an independent candidate for Ibanda municipality seat. His nemesis Tarsis Rwaburindore Bishanga was also nominated for the same seat as the NRM flag bearer. Mwiine Innocent Bakamuhara was also nominated as an independent candidate.
Jane Bainomugisha was finally nominated for the seat of Ibanda woman Mp as the NRM flag bearer following the clarification from NRM headquarters confirming her. She was tussling it out with Jovrine Kaliisa who also expressed interest to come as an independent candidate.
IN Ibanda south by press time only two candidates have been successfully nominated. The first candidate to be duly nominated was Kamugisha Emmanuel Rwakyendera who was registered as an independent with a clock symbol. Kamugisha is the political assistant to the current Ibanda south MP Eng. John Byabagambi.
Dr. Ninkusiima John Paul commonly known as Panadol the NRM flag bearer was nominated amidst jubilations. Dr. Ninkusiima defeated Eng. John Byabagabi in the recent held NRM primaries to become the flag bearer.
For Ibanda north constituency, Kyooma Xavier Akampurira the NRM flag bearer was the first to be nominated followed by Jibirl semakura- Eicumu rya Ibanda and Major Guma David Gumisiriza who are both independents.
