The Government moves to compensate all project-affected persons where the East African Crude oil Pipeline will be laid.
This follows the conclusion of the signing of the key agreements between the government of Uganda and the Republic of Tanzania over the weekend which concluded the legal framework and the contractual obligations between the different stakeholders.
A total of 3,792 persons will be relocated to pave way for the construction of the pipeline.
Energy and Mineral Development Minister Dr. Mary Goretti Kitutu says this exercise is likely to take 3 years.
She was speaking at a joint News conference with Oil and Gas companies on the signing of the key agreements for the oil and Gas Sector, at Serena Hotel in Kampala.
