Parliament’s appointments committee chaired by the deputy speaker Anita Among has started vetting the newly appointed ministers.

It should be remembered that the president last week appointed 79 ministers to serve in the new cabinet.

The appointment committee started its work by vetting the 1st deputy prime minister who is also the minister of East Africa affairs Rebecca Kadaga.

Others that have been vetted include the minister of education and sports Janet Museveni, the 2nd deputy prime minister who is also the deputy leader of government business Moses Ali, the minister of health Ruth Aceng.

The 3rd deputy prime minister who is also the minister without portfolio Rukia Nakaddama says that the members of parliament were mainly concerned about the high number of women in the committee since most women find it challenging to work together.
