The ministry of health warms members of the public against self-medication as far as COVID-19 is concerned stressing the need to have all cases diagnosed and treated under the supervision of a qualified health worker
Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Achieng says that many members of the public are rushing to buy drugs from pharmacies without guidance from health workers warning that this could lead to other health complications
She says for instance overuse of some vitamins, antibiotics and specialized drugs can have severe complications including bleeding, damage to organs and the brain
She has also warned against unregulated use of Oxygen saying it could lead to damage of the lungs and deaths
