MPs from Western Uganda from rural constituencies have urged the government to provide free transport to all those who want to go back to the villages instead of leaving them to suffer in the city.
The MPs included Kashari north mp Bazil Batarigaya, kanugu woman mp Patience Nkunda, Mbarara woman mp Margret Ayebare, Rwampara county mp Amos Kakunda, Mitooma woman mp Juliet Agasha, and Rwampara County Mp Amos Kankunda.
The MPs at first thanked the government for coming up with this initiative of supporting the vulnerable with money but says that the lists should be verified to ensure the beneficiaries are the intended people or else the government will be ridiculed.
The Rwampara County Mp Amos Kukunda says there are people in his area who have badly been affected by the foot and mouth disease and the VHTs who are helping people in bad times who should be considered.
