The Ministry of Finance has tabled a supplementary budget request for the ministry of Health worth 18.5 billion shillings to facilitate the purchase of covid-19 vaccines.
The supplementary was moved by state minister for Finance David Bahati in accompaniment with the Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine.
Last year government reported that it would import 18 million COVID 19 vaccines to help immunize frontline staff and older persons among other categories against the deadly flu.
Bahati also told the committee that the manufacturer and supplier have already requested for 5 billion shillings a commitment fee to start on the packaging of the vaccine as an order request.
