Parliament Tasks Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the fate of Ugandans trapped in Ukraine.

Parliament has given the ministry of foreign affairs up to Thursday to give a comprehensive statement on the evacuation of Ugandans in Ukraine due to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

The matter was raised by Lwemiyaga county mp Theodore Sekikubo who informed parliament that last night on his television he noticed government officials from Ukraine stopping Africans from boarding buses with them preferring their nationals to be evacuated first.

Sekikubo tasked the government to state the situation of Ugandans and how they plan for 

The Kasilo county mp Elijah Okupa asked the government to come out and inform Ugandans of the country’s position on the ongoing conflict between the two countries but was stopped by the deputy speaker.

The shadow minister of foreign affairs Muwada Nkuyinji in his submission asked the government to tell the country the exact number of Ugandans in Ukraine and the plans they have to evacuate them from the conflict.

The minister of security Jim Muhwezi promised that the minister of foreign affairs will bring a statement.
