This taskforce was created by parliament to inquire and report on the government preparedness and response to COVID-19, assessing the health impacts of covid-19 in the community and assess the management of covid-19 funds among others
Katuntu told journalists at parliament that tomorrow Friday they will meet with the officials from the ministry of Health, office of the prime minister, ministry of Gender and ministry finance.
He said that members of the Parliamentary regional COVID-19 Taskforce will be deployed on this week to execute their work of assessing the impact of covid-19 and government response in stopping this pandemic.
He said that this work will take them 10 days up country and later come back to make a report on what they could have found.
He said that they will investigate even the illegal activities of people taking advantage of the lockdown and covid-19 crisis.
