The Ministry of Health says it has taken the necessary precautionary measures to prevent the importation of the new COVID-19 Variant Omicron, which has rapidly spread in Southern Africa
Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Achieng says that surveillance and collection of samples from travelers has been intensified at all entry points into the country but so far no case has been detected in the county
She says that after samples are collected from travelers they will be allowed to travel inland but be tracked in case their results turn out to be positive for the new variant or COVID-19
