Burundian president paid tribute to Museveni for his role in bringing peace to his country which he said is now open for business and investment.
He revealed this during a state visit by Burundi’s president Evariste Ndayishimiye and bilateral talks held at state house Entebbe.
President Yoweri Museveni revealed that during their subsequent discussions they agreed that since peace and reconciliation have returned to Burundi there is a need to deal with the economy.
They have agreed to set up a joint permanent commission to carry out discussions on the areas for operation.
He says there opportunities in the mineral sector where Uganda can help Burundi.
The two leaders also agreed to work on some roads connecting Uganda and Burundi to make movement and trade easy.
Uganda has offered to help Burundi revamp its economy through trade and kick-starting its mineral sector.
That’s great for Ugandans.
