Mp Tayebwa Vows to Win the Race for Deputy Speaker Seat in the coming 11th parliament.

Ruhinda North Legislator Hon Thomas Tayebwa has joined the mantle to fight for the deputy speaker seat as the current deputy speaker Jacob Oulanya join Speaker Rebecca Kadaga to Faceoff for the position of speaker of the next 11th parliament.


Hon. Tayebwa revealed that he considered vying for this post after consultations with the Current deputy speaker Rebecca Kadaga and deputy speaker Jacob Oulanya will contest for speaker and that it’s time for the young generation to take over this post.


“President gave us a chance of becoming members of parliament and we are the majority and it’s time for us now to take the seat of deputy speaker and we leave the other one elder people such we can help in festering the systems and they will be happy with our ways of doing things and time is now because we were well mentored.”


He also added that he will help with the performance of MPs on the flow of parliament to at least each member to raise a point and find out why some members fail to participate in the debate on flow to improve the quality of debate in the House.


Among the other six legislators who are eying the same seat are Mohammed Nsereko Mp Kampala Central, Hon Thomas Tayebwa mp Ruhinda North, Hon Bakunda Alex mp Isingiro South, Hon Jacobo Oboth Both mp West Budama County, Hon Robina Rwakojo mp Gomba District, Hon David Bahati MP Ndorwa East and Hon Anita Annet Among Woman Mp Bukedia District,


Hon. Tayebwa is the MP for Ruhinda North, holds two bachelor degrees; Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, both from Makerere University and Currently, he sits on the Committee of National Economy. he also sits on the Natural Resources Committee.


Currently, he is a director of SMS Empire Limited, Wandaz Products Ltd, Gateway Associates Ltd, and Cholmat Investments (based in South Sudan). A member of the Makerere University Council, the board chairperson of the Bayimba Cultural Foundation.

  1. I pray for you Hon Tayebwa for this seat. He deserves it because he is known of his hard work and commitment to serve. He can even do better in posts higher than that.
