The opposition in parliament wants the budget that was recently passed to be recalled so that it can be realigned to address the Covid-19 crisis in the country.

The call has been made by the leader of opposition Mathias Mpuuga while addressing the media at parliament.

Mpuuga says that since the budget is yet to be implemented they want a motion to be brought in parliament to have the budget re-aligned so that more funds can be allocated to purchase COVID 19 vaccines, ambulances among others.

Mpuuga also wants the government to review some of the taxes including the 100 shillings ings that were imposed on fuel, taxes on data, and rent.

Mpuga has further appealed to President Yoweri Museveni to accept assenting to the NSSF bill to allow beneficiaries access to their saving during this challenging period.

Additionally, the Opposition has supported the government the idea of giving Ugandans cash in form of relief as communicated by Prime Minister Robinah Nabanjja yesterday but the tasked government to avail the public with the database to be used to avoid misuse and corruption scandals.
